The CompTIA Network+ certification is an entry-level computer certification for PC computer service technicians. The exam is designed to certify the competency of entry-level IT professionals in troubleshooting, configuring, and managing networks.

The CompTIA Network+ N10-007 exam will focus on 5 primary areas of study, which are also known as domains:
(1.0) Networking Concepts will make up 23% of the exam
This domain will focus on a variety of networking concepts and the implementation of them appropriately.
(2.0) Infrastructure will make up 18% of the exam
This domain will focus on appropriate cabling, device, and storage technologies.
(3.0) Network Operations will make up 17% of the exam
This domain will focus on best practices to manage the network, determining policies, & ensuring business continuity.
(4.0) Network Security will make up 20% of the exam
This domain will focus on physical security & common attacks while securing the wired and wireless network.
(5.0) Network Troubleshooting & Tools will make up 22% of the exam
This domain will focus on the network troubleshooting methodology & appropriate tools to support connectivity & performance.
CompTIA Network+ N10-007 Exam Details
The CompTIA Network+ N10-007, which is the latest & greatest exam version, was launched March 2018.
At the time of this posting, CompTIA has not scheduled a retirement date for this exam, but normally 3 years after the launch of an exam is when you can expect for that exam to be officially retired so they can begin introducing the latest version.
The exam has a maximum of 90 questions.
The questions are presented in multiple choice format (single & multiple response), drag & drop questions, and performance-based questions.
The exam has a 90-minute time limit.
In order to pass the CompTIA Network+ N10-007 exam, you will need to score 720 out of a possible 900 points (80%) on the exam.
It is recommended by CompTIA that a candidate be CompTIA A+ certified and have at least 9 to 12 months of networking experience.
The exam is available in English, German, Japanese, Spanish, & Portuguese.
